Barbell Incline Bench Press

Strengthen your upper chest with this classic incline barbell movement.

The Barbell Incline Bench Press is a staple upper-body movement that emphasizes the upper portion of the pectoral muscles. It's great for balanced chest development and building overhead pushing strength.

Instructions

  1. Lie back on an incline bench and grip the bar with a medium-width grip.
  2. Unrack the bar and hold it above your chest with arms locked out.
  3. Inhale as you lower the bar to touch your upper chest.
  4. Exhale as you press the bar back up, locking out your arms and squeezing your chest at the top.
  5. Perform the prescribed number of repetitions, then carefully re-rack the bar.
