This exercise mimics stair climbing or hiking and is highly effective for strengthening the lower body. It also promotes balance and injury prevention by training each leg independently.
Instructions
- Stand behind a sturdy platform with a barbell placed securely on your upper back.
- Step up with one leg and drive through your heel to lift your body onto the platform.
- Bring the other foot up to meet the first, standing tall.
- Step back down under control, reversing the movement.
- Complete all reps on one leg before switching.
