Dumbbell Step Ups

Build lower-body strength and balance with step-up training.

Step-ups are an excellent way to train each leg independently while also improving coordination and balance. This movement mimics daily activity like climbing stairs but with added resistance.

Instructions

  1. Hold a dumbbell in each hand and stand in front of a box or bench.
  2. Step onto the platform with your right foot, driving through the heel.
  3. Bring your left foot up to stand fully on the box.
  4. Step down with your left foot first, then your right.
  5. Repeat all reps on one side before switching.
