Floor Press with Chains

Add resistance at lockout to build stronger, more explosive pressing.

Using chains with the floor press teaches aggressive lockout strength and helps lifters maintain control through the entire range.

Instructions

  1. Drape chains over the barbell and set up lying flat under the bar in a power rack.
  2. Unrack the bar with your elbows locked out and lats engaged.
  3. Lower the bar under control until your triceps touch the floor.
  4. Press back up explosively, keeping your arms aligned and tight throughout.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of reps.
