If you're training calves with FitnessTracker, the Smith Machine Calf Raise is an excellent way to add volume without sacrificing form. The fixed bar path lets you focus on a deep stretch and strong contraction.
Instructions
- Position a raised platform (block or plates) under the bar and load your weight.
- Stand with the balls of your feet on the platform and the bar resting across your upper back.
- Unrack the bar and raise your heels by pressing through the balls of your feet.
- Pause briefly at the top, flexing your calves.
- Lower your heels slowly for a deep stretch, then repeat.
