Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown

Target your lats and upper back with this cable pulldown staple.

One of the most popular cable back exercises, the wide-grip lat pulldown mimics a pull-up while allowing for greater volume and progression. It builds upper-body strength and muscle definition.

Instructions

  1. Sit down at a cable pulldown machine and grip the wide bar with an overhand grip.
  2. Lean back slightly with your chest tall and elbows pointed down.
  3. Pull the bar to your upper chest by engaging your lats and bending your elbows.
  4. Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the bottom.
  5. Slowly return the bar to the top and repeat.
