Traps
The trapezius muscle supports shoulder and neck motion and posture.
Traps (Trapezius)
The trapezius, commonly known as "traps," are two large, triangular muscles located on either side of your upper back and neck. They extend from the base of your skull down your spine to the mid-back and out to your shoulders.
These muscles are crucial for moving your head, neck, and upper back. They help you lift and lower your shoulder blades (scapula), rotate them during arm movements, and maintain and adjust your posture. The trapezius is involved in elevating, retracting, and rotating the scapula, allowing for a wide range of upper body movements.
